Metro by T-Mobile Teams Up with the New York Subliners

New York, N.Y., July 27, 2020 — Andbox, New York’s first and leading esports organization, today announced it is deepening its relationship with partner T-Mobile as the company extends its existing partnership with the New York Excelsior (NYXL) of the Overwatch League, while Metro by T-Mobile kicks off a new one with the New York Subliners (NYSL) of the Call of Duty League. The partnerships are slated to run through the 2021 season.

“Together with T-Mobile we’ve provided fans of New York esports with incredible content and experiences over the past year and a half, and we’re just getting started,” said Kai Mathey, Head of Partnerships at Andbox. “In a time where staying connected is more important than ever, we’re proud to have T-Mobile as a partner that enables us to uplift and entertain our fans across our two professional esports teams.”

As part of T-Mobile’s partnership with the NYXL, the Un-carrier will continue to serve as the Official Wireless and 5G Partner to transform the fan experience leveraging the power of its network. Fans can also catch a new content series on YouTube, “Rank Up with NYXL,” which gives fans an opportunity to learn directly from the pros through community-submitted Overwatch gameplay. Select fans will have their videos reviewed by NYXL players, coaches, and staff, with “T-Mobile Tips” provided throughout to help improve their play so they can get to the next level.

And, in a new partnership with the NYSL, Metro by T-Mobile will be the team’s Official Wireless and 5G Partner to virtually connect fans with some of their favorite players. Metro by T-Mobile will receive marquee positioning on the team’s official jerseys during all Call of Duty League competitions, and it will also be featured across the NYSL’s social and digital channels in its new video series on YouTube, “Road to Glory.” The documentary-style series serves-up episodes that explore the backgrounds of NYSL players, featuring interviews with them as well as close family and friends.
