1st x Andbox Collection

25% of net proceeds from sales of the 1st Collection’s June release will be donated to the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), a nonprofit whose mission has never been more vital.

New York is the heart of style and culture, and Brian Alcazar is as New York as it gets. He has made it his life’s work to represent NYC’s buzzing life force through fashion and photography. And while he needs no help on the photography front, we’re honored to have had the chance to collaborate with him on his very first apparel drop. Introducing, the Andbox x 1st Collection.

Living in the city means battling every single day to make your dreams a reality and to stand up for what you believe in. It means you are willing to risk everything because a life in which you are not a fully realized and free version of yourself is not an option. And that NYC resilience and drive is celebrated throughout Brian’s collection.

Brian’s passion for video games goes back to his childhood when his brother noticed his knack for games and took him to compete in the Nintendo World Championships. He followed his passion and made it into a career when he signed on to Rockstar Games as a developer for them, helping them with titles like Grand Theft Auto V and Red Dead Redemption 2.

Versatility is Key

Versatility is Key

“Throughout my life, I’ve always focused on being versatile. To me versatility and being multifaceted is one of the biggest keys to success, ” said Brian. “In a world that moves this fast you have to be adaptable to any situation, and this is one of the key things I wanted to convey in this collection. You’ll find that each piece has features that are translatable in the real world under many different circumstances, from the zipper pockets to the velcro patches, I wanted this collection to be adaptable above all else.”

1st Camo Basketball Lounge Short
1st Camo Basketball Lounge Short

As a lover of NYC basketball, Brian was very specific about the silhouette, fabric and trim he wanted, so this was truly a piece he dictated. The striped trim on the sides of these shorts is amazing; it comes from Japan and emulates what you’d see on an NBA short. Featuring side pockets with zippers, the shorts also have trim placed on the side panels to give it a modern twist, with Andbox/1ST Velcro embroidered patch on the front bottom left leg.

The real stories of New York can only be told by people like Brian, who were born here, raised here, and made it here. Gaming played a major role in shaping who he is, just as gaming has done for so many others living in the Tri-State Area.
